Recrystallization Annealing Soaking Time Effect on the Tribological Behavior of Cold Upsetted Low Carbon Steel

This article evaluates the effect of recrystallization annealing soaking time on tribological behavior cold upsetted low carbon steel. The 40% formed steel was subjected to at 900 °C, for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 minutes. mechanical properties hardness, tensile strength, yield strength ductility, measured through specific deformation, as well precipitation carbides microstructural analysis were examined. In order analyze volume removed material, wear test performed using a pin-on-disk tribometer according ASTM G99. results showed that combination lamellar perlite pearlitic interlayer spacing reduction increases 1020 steel, reduces friction coefficient observed by material increase.
